In what do children find their happines?

I have been a child for half of my life if you go by my current age. :D Everybody has been thorugh his or her childhood over here. One thing i have always wondered about is the things which used to make me happy as a child and why.

Innocence is one of the characters of children, fragility is another. The combination of both makes them vulnerable to any kind of influence, be it good or bad. Generally bad influence can cause to change the way the life of a child and his perception towards other things. One of those include peer pressure. So how can a child be made happy without being badly influenced by others.

Children find happiness in small things. They can be a little bit big like video games or bicycles. But still compared to what we dream (bikes, cars, good jobs, excellent salary etc. etc.) they are quite small. Cartoons were one of those few things which i eagerly waited for as a child. Hmmm. Jungle Book. Who can forget it! And the hoarse voice of sher khan. Nana Patekar's voice. Yes those were the days! Even now I wish they broadcast the show again on our good old DD1 channel which seems to have lost in the crowd of satellite channels. I ll simply take a dive in my childhood and become nostalgic for the remaining day. Yes those were the days!

As we generally discuss books then let me make you aware of my childhood specials. Chacha chaudhary was a hero, so was the fool suppandi, asterix was hard to get and tintin could only be borrowed. But still i loved to do anything to get hold of these. Encyclopedias were fascinating only if they were accompanied by fascinating pictures. Every salesman selling books was turned back from the door by my parents but it was a joy just to take a look at what he had to offer.

Thoughts were plenty to come. There was no limit for creativity and innovation. A crayon in hand and a sketch book did fine for some part of the day. Perfection mattered little. Only the joy of doing it was the ultimate goal.

Cricket was always accompanied by little fights over who was going to bat first. But at the end of the day we were all friends. Lingorcha was fun with girls (you know piling up of stones, breaking it with ball and running to hide) and so was hide and seek and tip/tap. Yes there were no restrictions except for the evening time limit. Got beaten by parents many a times but still thought of it as a part and parcel of life. Never held a grudge against them. Oh maybe at times, but eventually forgot it when was handed a little candy. Those were the days!

I hope you had similar experiences. I wish you to share it with me. Today's lifestyle has changed a lot. Children spend more time on internet than those things which we used to do a lot in our childhood. Express your concern on it and if possible make some general suggestions about what should be done regarding it.
